The Language Learning Research Center (LLRC) at Stony Brook University is proud to host its third STARTALK program for high school students and college undergraduates. The program provides an opportunity to complete a semester of Arabic, Korean, Persian or Turkish in just six weeks.

The UW STARTALK program is a three-week summer camp that focuses on the Arabic language. The campers spend the first week at Table in the Wilderness in Centennial, Wyoming. During this wilderness retreat, students engage in outdoor team-building activities and learn nature-inspired vocabulary.The STARTALK program, an NSA-funded initiative, is launched by the NFLC; it is designed to increase the number of K–16 students learning Arabic and Chinese and to provide professional development opportunities to teachers of Arabic and Chinese.
